Name: Rashni Kim Age: 26 Sex: F Ethnicity: Indian-Korean Profession: Software engineer Location: Mid-level Affiliations: Bureau of Sustainability, Ground Level Disposition: friendly, always moving, slightly paranoid
Character Background and Description
Rashni Kim works for the Bureau of Sustainability as an engineer, maintaining the elevators, agricultural plants and water reclaimers that make life possible in Jisang. Because of her in depth work with the technical workings of Jisang, she’s noticed some discrepancies. Power lines leading nowhere, computer parts missing from inventory, superiors going missing for a couple days every few months, etc. Something wasn’t adding up. A friend of a friend she met one night drinking discretely sent her to the lower levels and introduced her to Ground Level, a conspiracy group convinced that the government has been lying about the toxicity of the lowest floors and is secretly hiding something down there.
“I know a scavenger that lost their mask once and they were fine” one tells her.
“Are those elevators really falling on accident?” another asks.
“No one’s ever made it passed Level 14 and come back alive.”
Rashni became enraptured with the idea and has been helping the group find more physical evidence that the government is hiding something. She’s been carefully copying inventory notes, recording who/when people go missing on “vacation time”, and drawing maps of where the mystery power lines are for the rest of Ground Level to investigate. Each day they get closer and closer to uncovering the mystery. But Rashni, like many others, has become obsessed with the mystery, and hasn’t thought about what her future will be if she’s right.
